When most people think about homeownership, they think about the obvious things—the kitchen, the backyard, the number of bedrooms, or finally having a place to call their own.

And while those things matter, I've learned that the best part of homeownership is often something much simpler.

It's the memories.

It's hosting your first holiday gathering.

It's decorating for the seasons.

It's watching your kids ride bikes down the driveway or your dogs run around the backyard.

If you've lived in Florida long enough, you've probably picked up a few phrases that would leave anyone from out of state completely confused.

For example:

"It's not that hot today."

Translation: It's only 89 degrees.

Or my personal favorite:

"We really needed this rain."

One of my favorite things about living in Wesley Chapel, Lutz, Land O' Lakes, and New Tampa is that there's always something to do. Whether it's grabbing dinner outdoors, visiting a local market, heading to the beach, or simply taking an evening walk around the neighborhood, summer has a way of bringing people together.

July also reminds me how lucky we are to live where others vacation. While visitors are packing for a week in Florida, we get to enjoy the sunshine, palm trees, and laid-back lifestyle every...
