If you've lived in Florida for more than five minutes, you've probably learned a few things nobody tells you when you move here.

Rule #1:

Never trust the weather app completely.

It can be bright and sunny in your driveway and pouring rain three streets away.

Rule #2:

Keep a jacket in your car.

Not because it's cold outside—but because every restaurant seems to think we're storing frozen foods inside.

Rule #3:

Accept that your car will never stay clean.

Between pollen, rain, and mystery leaves, Florida has plans for your vehicle.

Rule #4:

When someone says, "It's not that hot today," it probably means it's only 88 degrees.

Rule #5:

You will eventually become a sunset photographer.

You may resist. You may claim you're not into photography. It doesn't matter. The sunsets win.

Living in Florida comes with its quirks, but honestly, that's part of the fun.
